FogCon: In San Francisco; in March 2011; incomparable...

... or maybe not. "Friends of Genre" or Fogcon is a new convention in the spirit of Wiscon and Readercon, only it's in San Francisco.

I've been hearing about this con since some writer-friends told me they were seriously thinking about a new West Coast con - and now, it's a reality. The date has been set (March 11-13, 2011). The hotel's been booked. (Holiday Inn Golden Gateway). Volunteers have been conscripted (Me: Dealer's Room). The theme's been picked (The City in SF/F).

The Guests of Honor have accepted. (Flourish of trumpets, or at least foghorns)  Pat Murphy and Jeff Vandermeer!

Block the dates. It's a fresh new con, and it should be fun and enlightening.
